Overdue and Lost Items

According to the Albion College Student Handbook, "Students have the obligation to use all Library materials in an honest and responsible manner that maximizes their availability for others."

Library patrons are responsible for knowing when materials are due and for returning them on time.  Due dates can be found by logging in to your LibrarySearch account.  The Library system notifies borrowers via email when materials are overdue.  Please return items in a timely manner and in the condition in which you received them to ensure their availability for others.  Failure to follow this policy may result in the revocation of borrowing privileges.

If you lose an item, please email library@albion.edu.

Who May Borrow Materials?

Albion College faculty, staff, and students may borrow Library materials with their valid Albion College ID card.  Albion community members may borrow Library materials with their valid Albion College Community Borrower ID card (see below).  Walk-in patrons are welcome to use Library materials on site.  If you do not have an Albion College ID card, please borrow materials through MeLCat or Interlibrary Loan at your home library.

How to obtain an Albion College Community Borrower ID card:

Please see a Librarian during business hours to obtain a community borrower Library account.  You must be 18 years of age with a valid Michigan ID and live in the City of Albion.  Spouses and children of Albion College faculty or staff are also eligible.  After providing the necessary personal information at the Library Servies desk, you will then need to go to the IT help desk to obtain an Albion College Community Member ID card.
